JOB TITLE: Imaging Applications Specialist REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for the functionality and operational continuity of all Radiology/Lab Information and Technology Systems ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Effectively collaborate with IT, vendors, clinicians and personnel to ensure the operational success of all existing and future information systems and technologies (RIS, PACS, Voice Recognition Dictation, LIS) 2. Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of equipment and workflow as it relates to interfacing with information systems and technologies. 3. Ensure all patient information is archived and retrievable in accordance with HIPPA and state regulations. 4. Complete responsibility and management of function and interconnectivity of systems from modalities to physician viewing stations and Radiologists reading stations across the corporate network in collaboration with IT department. 5. Develop and execute systems maintenance schedules and disaster recovery that ensures system availability. 6. Provide on going systems education and training to providers and staff. 7. Create and ensure complete data base accuracy and consistency, user definable parameters configuration, application build, security, user setup and management for new systems and technologies. 8. Keeps informed of new technologies, trends and market changes and suggest ways to improve patient care.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Project management as needed for new installations. 2. Technical service on equipment as required. 3. Acts as liaison for the Radiology Department. 4. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Experience: 1. Four years combined experience Radiology / IT, or radiology/Biomed/IT 2. Biomedical engineering in radiology 3. Network infrastructure and web technology in a PACS, RIS environment. Skills: 1. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 2. Excellent typing and multitasking skills. 3. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to professionally manage interactions in all situations. 4 Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 5. Ability to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements: Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
